Phillip is receiving government-subsidized Intensive Behavioural Intervention, but it did not come without a long waiting time of two years, and I believe that some of the chaos that lives within him most likely would have been averted had we gotten the services earlier.

The experience we’ve had in the program is phenomenal. The best part of this program is the education I have received that has helped me to deal with situations in home and community and to better our lives.

Phillip could not talk when he entered the program...His communication was screaming and self-abuse. The therapists taught him sign-language, something that I did not have the means or the know-how to do. Soon, Phillip could sign most of his needs to me, and his screaming, aggression and self-abuse reduced and our household experienced some sanity.

Just after Phillip’s sixth birthday, he began to talk. Honestly I've never heard anything so sweet as to hear him say his first word! Phillip will sadly be leaving the program to make room for another child. Every family deserves to experience this kind of relief. Nobody should live in such chaos.

My youngest daughter is also in the program after a two-year wait.
